Easy Installation and Connection for MyChron5 660

Optimal Placement for Easy Viewing

For optimal performance, install your MyChron5 660 in a location where both you and mechanics can easily view the display while working on the dragster engine. We recommend placing it under the engine ON/OFF switch. Secure a bracket to the vertical bulkhead and attach the MyChron5 660 to the bracket.

Connecting the RPM Wire

To ensure accurate RPM readings, connect the RPM wire to the dragster's ON/OFF switch. Typically, the switch has two poles (though some may only have one). The two poles are for RPM and coil. Connect the RPM wire to the coil side of the kill switch. Avoid connecting it to the grounded side of the switch, as this can cause the RPM signal to drop or fail intermittently.

Securing the RPM Wire

Since the ON/OFF switch is usually opposite the bulkhead, drill a 0.2” (5mm) hole through the bulkhead. Insert a rubber wire-holder into the hole to protect the RPM wire from tears and cuts. The RPM sampling frequency for the MyChron5 660 is 50 Hz.

Powering the MyChron5 660 is straightforward. Plug in and charge the battery. The green light will stop flashing when fully charged, indicating that your device is ready for use.
