What the WIX part numbers tell you
WIX racing filter numbers carry an R suffix to mark them as part of the racing range. A bypass valve, noted in the final column, lets oil keep circulating if the filter media becomes restricted, which matters in high-output and cold-start racing conditions. Where a competitor filter cross-references to more than one WIX number, such as the Fram HP6 to either 51222R or 57003R, choose based on availability and your specific application.
