How It Works:

The X-Pro isolator performs two essential FIA-required safety functions:

  1. Engine Stop (Kill): Interrupts power to the ignition or ECU circuit, forcing the engine to stop and ceasing alternator output.
  2. Battery Isolation: Disconnects the battery negative terminal from chassis/ground, isolating every electrical system on the vehicle.

These actions occur in rapid sequence—Engine Stop first, then Battery Isolation—ensuring safe shutdown without alternator load dumping. All load-dump protection is built in, eliminating the need for extra components.

User Operation:

The X-Pro is controlled using two FIA-approved switches:

  • Internal Switch: Driver-operated ON/OFF control on the dashboard.
  • External Switch: Marshal-operated emergency OFF control located outside the vehicle.

The external switch can only turn the isolator OFF, in accordance with Motorsport UK regulations.

The unit also provides automatic shutdown if a wiring fault, short-circuit, over-current, over-temperature condition, or broken cable is detected. Diagnostic LEDs on both the isolator and the internal switch display fault codes for easy troubleshooting (refer to manual).
