THE ORIGINAL SPARCO FLOW FORMED WHEEL

The Sparco FF1 is the first Sparco wheel made with the flow-forming technique, and it was designed around sports car enthusiasts who take compact cars like the Mazda MX-5 to track days. Flow forming cuts weight while keeping tensile strength high, so it starts at just 5.1kg in 15". Sparco Flow Forming wheels are made with a controlled hot-rolling process on the barrel that compacts the aluminium into a denser, stronger structure. The payoff is less weight without giving up integrity, so the car feels more agile and responds more sharply.

TRACK-DAY LIGHT, DAILY-DRIVER TOUGH

Its multi-spoke, aggressive styling suits the circuit and the daily drive, giving any compact performance car a custom look without giving up the reliability, quality and long life OZ is known for. It comes in Flat and Concave profiles and a Gloss Black finish across 15" to 17" sizes, with 4- and 5-stud fitments.

Key Features:

  • Flow Formed Construction – Heat treated AlSi7Mg alloy with HLT technology
  • Track-Day Weight – From 5.1kg in 15", according to the Sparco 2026 brochure
  • Multi-Spoke Design – Aggressive, sporty styling for track and road
  • Flat & Concave Profiles – Matched to fitment for the right stance
  • TPMS Compatible – Works with standard tyre pressure monitoring sensors
  • Run Flat & Winter Proof – Supports run-flat tyre setups and is rated for year-round use
  • Engineered by OZ – Developed, designed and quality-controlled by OZ

Disclaimer:

*Wheels sold by Racer Industries are designed for offroad/motorsport use, however they may be used on a road car in Australia, provided the vehicle owner has checked that they meet the rules and regulations in their particular state/territory. It is recommended that the National Code of Practice for Light Vehicle Construction and Modification (VSB14) and local transport authority guidelines are considered. A brief summary of VSB14 is below –

  • The track width cannot increase by more than 25mm for passenger cars.
  • Wheel width must not exceed original manufacturer specifications by more than 30% for passenger cars.
  • Wheels and tyres must fit completely inside the bodywork or mudguards/flares when pointed straight ahead, without rubbing against the suspension, brakes or chassis at any steering angle.
  • Using wheel spacers or adapters between the wheel hub and rim is illegal unless fitted directly by the original manufacturer. Wheels must have the identical stud/bolt pattern, and be located by the same diameter centre spigot, using suitable adaptor rings where necessary.
  • The wheel nuts or bolts must have a thread engagement length that is at least equal to the thread diameter.
  • Steering or suspension stops must not be modified to create wheel clearance.
  • Wheels must comply with Australian Design Rule standards for road use and not feature a full circumferential weld other than one that attaches the wheel centre to the rim itself.
  • The wheels will be deemed illegal without a separate engineering certificate if the brake calipers, hubs, suspension and steering components need to be modified in any way.

If the wheel upgrade exceeds these standard thresholds, you will need an assessment by an authorised automotive engineer to obtain an engineering certificate. Further to the above, it’s recommended you check the below documents for your particular state/territory –

  • South Australia – SA Vehicle standards and modification requirements, plus VSB 14 where applicable.
  • Queensland – Queensland Transport and Main Roads light vehicle modification rules and certification codes.
  • New South Wales – Transport for NSW vehicle standards and VSCCS certification pathway.
  • Victoria – VicRoads vehicle standards information and VASS approval pathway.
  • Western Australia – Department of Transport WA minor, simple and complex light vehicle modification categories.
  • Tasmania – Transport Tasmania vehicle modification approval process.
  • Northern Territory – NT vehicle modification and inspection requirements.
  • Australian Capital Territory – Access Canberra modified vehicle requirements.
